Though our mixes were designed with spirits in mind, they are perfectly geared for those seeking an alcohol-free bevy to kick the night off or for that relaxing weekend at the lake. Below are our recommendations for how to turn each of our 12 classic cocktail flavors into delicious, bar-quality, dangerously easy, libations that everyone even your Grandma will enjoy. Cheers!
The Old Fashioned Mocktail
Not every Old Fashioned is created equally in fact no matter where you go throughout the world everyone has their own take on the Old Fashioned. For us, an Old Fashioned in mocktail form is two-fold or broken into two types of drinks:
Brewed Tea - Utilize your favorite brewed tea. We would recommend a black tea or a barley tea for this and over-steep it meaning let it brew for 2x or even 3x the amount. This will make a tea that is strong and with robust flavors. Use this deep tea in place of whiskey or Bourbon.
Whiskey Alternatives - For those like us that still like the art of mixology we would recommend this route. There are many zero-proof whiskeys on the market now. Here are a few we would recommend: Spiritless Kentuck 74 - Monday Whiskey - Lyre’s American Malt - Ritual Whiskey
The Classic Daiquiri Mocktail
Daiquiris come in all shapes, forms, colors, and most importantly flavors. When making a mocktail version of a Classic Daiquiri there is one of two ways that come to mind.
Fruit Juices & Purees - Utilize your favorite fruit juice, concentrate, or puree to add body and a new flavor punch to this mocktail. We would recommend using our mix directly in your fruit juice, concentrate or puree and either blending or shaking from there. Topping with sparking or soda water is a must!
Rum Alternatives - If you prefer the Classic Daiquiri in its purest form, there are many zero-proof rums on the market now. Here are a few we would recommend: Ritual Rum - Lyre’s Spiced Rum - Lyre’s Cane Spirit
The Bee’s Knees Mocktail
If you ask Michaella our CCO the Bee’s Knees mix makes the best damn mocktails she has ever had…ever, LOL! The beauty of our Bee’s Knees mix is that the profile is just lemon and honey which summed up means it can be added to anything or anything added to it to make a truly impressive and highly drinkable mocktail. Here are our recommendations:
Flavored Sparkling Waters - With the world of sparking waters as your oyster, try out every flavor till your heart is content. We’ve found that floral-flavored waters such as elderflower, hibiscus, lavender, or juniper work the best but you can totally use our mixes with other flavors like grapefruit or wild berry. CAUTION: We will caution that when adding sparkling water to our mix there might be a slight fizz. Think grade school volcano but on a mini scale
Hot Teas - If you prefer a hot mocktail beverage look no further than the easiest way to get lemon and honey in your drink. Think of this method as a Toddy. Fake sick from work and enjoy 2 or 3 or 6 toddies before breakfast!!
Gin Alternatives - For the Bee’s Knees purists out there you are in luck! The world is filled with some pretty delicious gin alternatives. Here are a few we would recommend: Monday Gin - Lyre’s Dry London Spirit
